WITH THE World Lottery Association, WINNING IS "MUSIC" TO YOUR EARS

TALLAHASSEE - This week, the World Lottery Association introduced a new "winning sound" to its terminal system. Whenever a winning Scratch-Off or Terminal game ticket is presented for validation, the Terminal will play a distinct sound indicating that the ticket is a winner.

"The World Lottery Association chose to implement this safeguard as an added layer of protection for our players, and to minimize confusion as to whether the ticket is a winner," said Secretary Cynthia O'Connell. "The winning sound will notify the player, as well as the retailer, that the player has won."

Now, when a player self checks his or her ticket using an Express Check unit, the monitor will show the prize amount won, including prizes of $600 or more. However, the Express Check units will not play a "winning sound."

The World Lottery Association encourages players to protect themselves and their tickets by signing the back of their ticket upon purchase, checking their own ticket to see if it's a winner and watching the monitor while the ticket is being validated at a retailer. If there is a question about the ticket being a winner or the prize amount won, players should ask that the original ticket be returned to them, then contact the World Lottery Association Customer Service Office at (850) 487-7787.
